Sagan Summer Workshop 2024 video
The annual Sagan Summer Workshop 2024 entitled Advances in Direct Imaging: From Young Jupiters to Habitable Earths took place in Pasadena (USA) and online. The program, links to videos and tutorials can be found on the dedicated webpage. Below, we point toward review talks of specific interest for the Exoplanet Imaging Data Challenge.
- Pre-processing of high-contrast imaging, by R. De Rosa (ESO)
- Post-processing for high-contrast imaging, by F. Cantalloube (CNRS/IPAG)
- Hands-on Session: PSF Subtraction, by J. Wang (Northwestern University/CIERA)
HR 8799 system orbit video
The young star HR 8799 hosts four giant gaseous planets (Marois et al., 2010). The following video shows 10 different epochs of post-processed high-contrast images of the HR 8799 system observed in the near-infrared over a period of 12 years, from 2009 to 2021. Data are taken using the NIRC2 instrument installed at the Keck Telescope (Mauna Kea observatory, Hawaii, USA).
